About Lisa Noble & Amy Taylor, Founders, Owners, & Sister-In-Laws:
As far back as high school, when they were just friends, they were drawn to each other's creative style. Although both graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees, they were not drawn to the corporate scene. Always kicking around inventive ideas, the right one illuded them until Amy gave birth to her first child. Wanting to share her joy with the world, but not knowing how, the idea came to her months later when she saw a birth announcement stork outside of the Bay Area. Instantly they knew this was the creative venture they were looking for. Not only could they provide a service that families would appreciate, they could also have fun doing it.
Their original idea to start a home-based business came from their desire to be stay-at-home moms while earning some extra income. Creating the yard signs really was a family affair. Lisa and Amy created the characters, while their contractor husbands engineered the structural designs. With fliers in hand, the two launched their business on May 4, 2005 at the Pleasanton Street Fair.
